Riga - Recommendations.
There next weekend 4 couples.

Birds will shop so could do with pub recommendations, looking to avoid getting fleeced and also find somewhere suitable for our game Saturday night. Staying in the old town.

Other tourist things to do welcomed.

Cheers

Go to somewhere called Victory Pub. We headed out there 2 years ago was only there for a day but never moved.

Go location off the main square and it was dirt cheap from very hazey memory

The markets in the aircraft hangars are interesting too.

It's nice. The old town is small, but nice.

First time I went I stumbled across a garlic bar - I had a garlic beer which was both brilliant and horrendous at the same time.

I only paid £45 for the flight, so no downside.

Fully expecting to walk round for an hour, get cold and then just park-up in a bar for the duration.

I fancy Finland at some stage though, looks stunning.

Thanks chaps and appreciate the feedback. Never usually a fan of Irish Bars as I don’t see the point of going to a foreign country to sit in one, but will likely bite the bullet for our game.

Nice to hear there’s plenty of scenery, particularly the 2 legged kind.

Its a small city. All the main bars and restaurants are clustered around in the city centre. I went a few times and it was always good. I never felt ripped off. As usial yhere are Irish pubs that do footy but I think some of the Lavian ones do too. Latvian beer is good so make sure you try it.
There was a big Lavian celler reastaurant that was fun but cant remember its name as I got so pissed. There was also a really nice smart reastaurant down on tbe river, not too expensive but had vibes. I'm told tge opera house is brilliant but bever got there.
